A Quick Hello

Yes, the rumors are true, I am back at the Ruhi Foundation this summer and am having so much fun! Let me first catch you up on what has happened at the school since I last visited. The old fifth grade class have graduated and have started sixth grade at their new schools. Though the transition can be rough, they seem to be adjusting now. Some of them are planning on visiting some time this week which I am very excited about! Ruhi hasn’t changed much, the love, the smiles, and the insane heat are all still there. There are however a handful of new students, new teachers, and a brand new massive swing set! These two weeks I am going to be reading books with the third, fourth, and fifth grade. Magic Tree House with third and fourth and Wayside School with fifth. The fourth and fifth graders seem to really like the books but the third graders are harder to reach. I’m sure they’ll make progress though. Today we brought hot samosas and they were giddy! Speaking of happy, it is still the best feeling when they remember me and tell stories about when I came in years before. They are all missing Rishi, Nikita, Aman, and of course, Maya. I have received a plethora of gifts in these past three days which are always pecicley planned to the very last detail. From the shape of the card to the message inside, the Ruhi kids never fail to amaze me with their creativity. I think the “most creative gift”award goes to a brown basket made of folded paper with beads on the sides and a red paper rose on the handle. I am so happy to be back and can’t wait to tell more stories!
